Glass ceiling was finally broken as PPC Nusrat Wheeldon, the Conservative BME and female candidate gets the endorsement for Wealden. An overall result and evidence no requirement for all women-short lists.

Nusrat successfully demonstrated her extensive career out of Westminster, academic experience, strong campaigning and building a rapport with the constituents in the public platform. As she addressed the first barrier, breaking the cycle of men being selected for safe tory seats with the public on her side acknowledging who they want to represent them at this dramatic open primary, wishing her well in her future role; read here:
